Domestic Violence Housing

Understanding Community Needs and Foundational Principles Safe housing and access to basic needs are universal rights, yet in practice, countless individuals—particularly women, children, and young people—continue to face homelessness, housing insecurity, and the compounding trauma of violence or sudden crisis. Data from community providers and government agencies demonstrates that domestic and family violence is the leading cause of homelessness for women and children in Australia; more than 10,000 people escaping violence were unable to access emergency accommodation due to supply constraints in the recent reporting period. Vulnerable young people, as well, can face formidable barriers to finding secure accommodation and maintaining tenancy, prompting innovative responses from both government and not-for-profits.
Safe Housing For All Inc. grounds its approach in trauma-informed care and the latest design standards for emergency and transitional housing. The organisation’s philosophy centres on accessibility, cultural safety, privacy, and the empowerment of service users. Principles drawn from models such as the Missouri Model of Trauma-Informed Care and best practices from nationwide housing design guides inform both physical spaces and service delivery models

Labour Placement Initiative & Community Development Program

Our Labour Placement Initiative and Community Development Program is designed to create meaningful employment pathways for individuals facing barriers to work. By partnering with local not-for-profit organisations, we connect with communities to identify those in need and offer them a genuine opportunity to rebuild their lives through stable employment.

We believe in second chances. Many of the individuals we support come from challenging backgrounds—whether it's family hardship, past mistakes, or limited access to opportunity. Our goal is to help them re-enter the workforce with dignity and purpose.

It’s important to note that this is not a labour hire service. Every participant placed through our program is offered a direct opportunity for employment within the host organisation. We advocate for long-term inclusion, not short-term placements.

The program has already seen strong results, and we’re committed to expanding its reach and impact in the months ahead.
